Pharmacy College Welcomes Freshmen with White Coats

Freshman students of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences of Ajman and Fujairah campuses officially marked the beginning of their pharmacy education at Ajman University. The class of 2022 from both campuses received their white coats from Prof. Nageeb Hassan, College Dean, Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Dean of Student Affairs, and Prof. Sumia Sirelkhetim, Deputy Dean of College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (Fujairah Campus) in the presence of faculty and staff of both campuses.

The ceremony which was launched with the UAE national anthem and the Holly Quran, started with a welcome speech from the College Dean. Prof Hassan first welcomed the new students to the 2018-2019 academic year in the first White Coat Ceremony for the Ajman University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Prof Hassan also congratulated them for being admitted in one of the top 3% universities worldwide and in one of the top Pharmacy Colleges in the region, and one of the few Colleges outside USA with internationally certified B. Pharm program from the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in the USA. Prof  Hassan also wished the students a prolific professional journey, and concluded his speech by saying, “Put on your white coats, proudly and remember that you will be able to make a difference”.

Finally, the students donned their coats with joy and happiness manifested on their faces. At the end of the ceremony, the students stood up to recite the “Oath of a Pharmacist” by saying “I promise to devote myself to a lifetime of service to others through the profession of Pharmacy”.
