Ajman University Participates in World Pharmacist Day Conference

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University of Science and Technology participated in the world pharmacist day and innovative pharmacist initiative organized by ministry of health and prevention – Sharjah medical district in Radisson Blu Resort-Sharjah. This event commemorates the World Pharmacists Day.

Prof. Nageeb Hassan, Dean of the College attended the event along with staff and students from the college. Dr. Moayed Al Omary, Assistant Professor and the head of clinical pharmacy department in the College delivered a lecture entitled “virtual pharmacy innovation”.

He highlighted the contemporary teaching technique of utilizing the virtual pharmacy to impart vital knowledge to students and the positive impact on the learning quality and outcomes. Dr. Moayad also recommended the urgent need to improve the curriculum to be parallel to the new technology available across the world. He concluded by urging the people to replace the old learning and teaching methods by new innovative methods.

Dr. Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Medical Practice and License Sector in UAE Ministry of Health, awarded Ajman University students for the brilliant research they conducted and presented in the applied innovative ideas competition. Amira Fathi and Marina Atif, students at the college of Pharmacy and Health Sciences had conducted a research study on the effect of Ghaf tree on people suffering from depression and anxiety. Dr. Waseem Islam, a researcher and assistant professor at the College of Pharmacy and health sciences, Ajman University, supervised the reasearch.
