College of Pharmacy and Health Science at Ajman University organized a workshop in conjunction with the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education ACPE. Professor Nageeb Hassan, dean, college of Pharmacy and Health Sciences welcomed Mr. Mike Rouse, Director, International services ACPE, who delivered this workshop at Ajman Saray Hotel.
College of Pharmacy is planning to be accredited by ACPE and the workshops was a preliminary preparation for this step forward. Prof. Nageeb explained that the beneficial outcome for getting such accreditation are achieving global standards in learning outcomes which will reflect positively on the educational outcomes as high qualified pharmacists will graduate from the college equipped with the compatibility and international seal of ACPE, thus increasing their market demands.
In addition the dean said this accreditation will give a mainstay for quality assurance and complements the academic accreditation in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the United Arab Emirates. This will enrich the College of Pharmacy’s existing program at local and global level thereby attracting more students.
Mr. Mike Rouse delivered the workshop for the dean, faculty, staff and students of the College. He highlighted the various aspects of this accreditation and the principles to adhere to in order to achieve it through a rigorous process. He also expressed his keenness to assist Ajman University because the college of pharmacy is one of the pioneers in this field in the entire United Arab Emirates.
