Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements for Bachelor’s Programs 2023-2024

Admission is open to students from all nationalities and high school curricula – UAE National Curriculum, American, British, CBSE (Indian), French, etc.

Regular Admissions

To be enrolled in a BPharm program, a student should have the following:

  1. A minimum High School Average of 85% for Advanced Track or equivalent or at least 80% in Standardized International Systems.
  2. An Emirates Standardized Test (EmSAT) score of 1100 for English language or an equivalent English Proficiency Test approved by the CAA such as TOEFL ITP score of 500, or 5.0 IELTS academic.
  3. Passing the Admission Exam designed by the College of Pharmacy which includes the following basic science subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics. & Mathematics
  4. Passing a personal interview set by the College of Pharmacy.

 

Conditional Acceptance:

A student who does not have or achieved the required English proficiency score, then he/she may be conditionally admitted provided that he/she:

  1. Takes no more than 12-semester credits (or equivalent) of appropriate General Education course work to contribute towards an undergraduate degree.
  2. Provide the required minimum score for the English language within two regular semesters of conditional enrollment to progress from conditional/provisional status and advance into the full academic program.

Admission Requirements for Master’s Programs

  • Regular Admissions

    A student is admitted to MScPharm in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology concentration provided he has the following criteria:

     

    1. Submits official transcripts of all earned undergraduate credits;
    2. A recognized Bachelor’s degree earned in a BPharm program or its equivalent with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent;
    3. Require a score of 1400 on the English language portion of the EmSAT examination, or its equivalents on other national or internationally-recognized tests that are approved by the CAA, such as TOEFL ITP score of 550, or 6.0 IELTS academic, with the exception that a native speaker of English who has completed his/her undergraduate education in an English-medium institution may not be required to provide certification of English language proficiency.

     

    Conditional Acceptance:

  • A) If a student has an EmSAT score of 1250 or its equivalent on another standardized test approved by the CAA, such as TOEFL ITP score of 530, or 5.5 IELTS academic, then such a student must meet the following requirements during the period of conditional admission or be subject to a dismissal:

    1. Must achieve an EmSAT score of 1400 or equivalent, by the end of the student's first semester of study;
    2. May take a maximum of six credit hours in the first semester of study, not including intensive English courses;
    3. Must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in the first six credit hours of credit-bearing courses studied for the graduate program;

     

    B) A student may be conditionally admitted with a recognized BPharm degree or its equivalents if the minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent. Such a student must:

    Take a maximum of nine credit hours of courses studied for the graduate program during the period of conditional admission and must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, in these nine credits of courses studied for the MScPharm program.
